Our new Flavor Bar has been a huge hit. You can pick your protein (chicken breast, shrimp, pork tenderloin, etc.) then choose what marinade you would like on it. The majority of our marinades are made from scratch, so no preservatives or funny stuff. We use vacuum seal bags creating an express marinade system to keep the process quick and painless in terms of at home prep.
For dinner tonight we picked chicken breasts to marinate in our Zesty Herb marinade. Its is kind of like an a fresh Italian dressing - mmmmmm yummy! We scored the top of it, then dredged it in a 50/50 mix of panko and grated Parmesan cheese. Scoring it gave each piece nice little crevices for the panko bread crumbs to nestle in, creating extra crunchiness.
I heated up olive oil and butter in an oven safe pan and seared the top of the chicken breasts (the scored side). I flipped them over (scored side up), then put the whole pan in the oven at 350 for about 10-12 min. The USDA recommends cooking all poultry to an internal temperature of 165 (Fahrenheit), keeping in mind that the temperature will rise during the necessary rest period.
We served the crispy zestyness with sweet peas and potatoes au gratin, and devoured every single bite. We will definitely be making this on a regular basis. It was quick and easy. Can't beat it.
